Responsive data grids or tables are common in financial applications. Data grids can present a challenge in responsive web design. As the browser width is reduced on smaller mobile platforms, data grids will only reduce so far until a horizontal scroll bar appears at the bottom of the browser.
The responsive solution collapses as many data columns as it needs to fit the device's screen width. A control is provided in the upper right-hand side to select and view the collapsed columns. The choice of columns to collapse is based on user needs.
The mobile user deserves complete access to all site content regardless of device. Responsive design adjusts website content to the device or platform and avoids the cost of implementing and managing multiple sites across platforms.
